November update from the Presidential Search Committee

On behalf of the Goshen College Presidential Search Committee, we wanted to again offer you an update. The committee recently met November 11-12 and focused on further developing the presidential profile. This work included careful review of the survey results, a presentation about the primary skills and experiences needed for a successful president, and a consultation with Jim and Terri Brenneman, where they each shared their perspective on his presidency and the qualities they would see valuable in the next president of Goshen College.

Lon Swartzentruber, senior consultant at Design Group International (DGI), spoke with the committee about the president’s role as primary fundraiser and what skills and experiences would be valuable in that role. Since the committee had used DGI to help with the survey instrument, Lon also presented and helped interpret over 1,500 survey responses and the feedback from on-campus listening sessions.
