Matthias Stegmann earned a bachelor's degree in music education from the Conservatory of Music in Cologne, Germany. He then went on to pursue graduate studies in music theory and classical guitar performance, for which he earned his masters degree from the College Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1993. In 1994 he joined the faculty at Goshen College, teaching classical guitar. In 1998 he was appointed departmental recording and audio engineer. Since then, Stegmann has produced many fine recordings of various festivals, concerts and recitals. His latest production is "Best of Goshen College 2002-2003." This is the first installment of an anticipated annually released sampler of the Goshen College music department's best performances.
