Part 1
Approach

1. Find an interestingly unusual location.

2.  Compose each shot carefully.


Techincal Considerations

1. Take out of doors subjects for daylight.

2. Consider LIGHT carefully.

(E.g. Before 10 am and after 5 pm.)
Fog, clouds, snow affects light too, so consider taking advantage if the opportunity presents itself.  
NOTE:
1. Set ISO with care!
2. Expose as meter tells you to, then Bracket!!!
Due: March 13: Negs or slides

Part 2
Digital Imaging

1.  Scan in negative or slide using special 35mm scanner. Follow Marvin Bartel's Basic Image File Preparation Using Adobe Photoshop 5.0 ir 5.5. (See Photo Communication MB, PhotoPrep).

2.  After scanning,  and SAVING IT  in Photoshop (in Macs in a temporarily saved folder you can make on the computer "Desktop" (Mac screen is called a desktop) manipulate:
 

3. Assignment: 4 color prints:
    I.  Macro view of Place
    II. Medium view of Place
    III. Micro view of Place
    IV.  A montage: Use one as a base, copy, cut and paste images in from the other 2 photos (or others that you  took that would work well). Maintain the sense of place, but enjoy playful overlappings, etc. Try using dodging, blurring and burning tools to integrate the several images.
