Assignment Description
Take a roll of film recording various states of sun light as it
plays on objects and in various atmospheres. Make photos of a variety
of natural objects and human forms using the effects of the light to fully
"describe" these forms.
Objective
To learn to use the numerous effects of natural light as a photographic
language.
Film: 1 (24 exp.) Roll of Plus-X 125
Note: Read Photography 6th ed., Upton & Upton, Chapter 11
Read chapter 11, pp. 223-229, and look carefully at the examples of various lighting one finds in a variety of light conditions dependent upon the location and time of day. Then go to a new location for you and take several photos to capture the following:
Outdoors:
back lighting (silhouette) 1 print

front lighting 1 print
direct light (sharp shadows) 1 print
directional - diffused 1 print

Indoors (existing
light):
