GC Choirs and Toledo Symphony Concerts - Nov. 19-21
During two performances at the Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle and one in Goshen College's Sauder Concert Hall, the Toledo Symphony and a 110-voice Goshen College choir again joined together to perform William Walton's 1931 cantata "Belshazzar's Feast." The choir, made up of 90 GC students as well as relatives and community members, was led by Professor of Music Debra Brubaker, and Stefan Sanderling conducted the symphony. They received a rave review in the Toledo Blade, which said, "The choir, over 100 strong and wonderfully prepared by Goshen College professor Debra Brubaker, percolated with vitality. Diction was immaculate, pitch focused. At times the singers, though so young and positive as individuals, seemed to sway with the dark inevitability of brooding masses."
