Using Headers

In order to ensure your section headings display properly, be sure to select the proper heading number—numbers one through three will yield the correct results, respectively.

Heading 1

This heading is reserved for the title of articles. The title section of the post should typically be reflected as a level 1 heading (Heading 1) at the top of the page. Make sure all of the text manipulation buttons are showing (two rows total) by ensuring the “kitchen sink” icon is selected—it is the right-most icon of the first row.

Heading 2

Within the text of an article, heading 2 is used to denote the beginning of a new section of the article. You will notice a drop-down menu box in the left-most position of the second row of icons. It will say “Format” by default.

  1. Highlight the text that ought to be a level 2 heading.
  2. From the drop-down menu box select “Heading 2″.

Heading 3

Within the text of an article, heading 3 is used to denote the beginning of a new sub-section within a level 2 heading.

  1. Make sure all of the text manipulation buttons are showing (two rows total) by ensuring the “kitchen sink” icon is selected—it is the right-most icon of the first row.
  2. You will notice a drop-down menu box in the left-most position of the second row of icons. It will say “Format” by default.
  3. Highlight the text that ought to be a level 3 heading.
  4. From the drop-down menu box select “Heading 3″.
