Peace PlaysThe theater department holds a biennial peace playwriting contest, staging the winning play(s) in the fall of alternating years. Underwritten by a grant from the Disciples of Peace, a Middlebury (Ind.) charitable fellowship, the Goshen College Peace Play Contest was established in 1982. To our knowledge, it is the only contest devoted solely to plays about peace and peace-related topics. The winners of the 2008 Peace Play competition will be performed on October 3, 4, and 5th in the Umble Center. Guidelines for Submissions:Type of Material: One Act plays Frequency: Biennial Remuneration: 1st Place, $500, production, room and board to attend rehearsals and/or production. 2nd Place, $100, possible production. Guidelines: One unproduced submission, 15-50 minutes in length, exploring a contemporary peace theme (broadly defined). Submissions Procedure:
