Preparations for the Indonesia Unit

The Spring 2001 SST unit in Indonesia is over, but this website will remain available.

December, 2000 -- Ron and Sally Jo Milne, Goshen faculty leaders, met with Dr. Aristarchus Sukarto ("Pak Aris"), President of Duta Wacana Christian University, in the city of Yogyakarta, where the SST unit will be located.

We will be assisted by a team of Indonesians who are helping us with many details. In the first photo (click the photo to see everybody) are Bu Mega (Team Coordinator), Pak Petra (Co-coordinator), and Bu Sally Jo. Shown in the second photo, from left to right, are Bu Veronica, Mbak Ambar, Bu Lina, and Bu Ninik. Bu Veronica and Bu Ninik will also be language instructors. In addition, Bu Ninik will be a host mother (for Hilari). Several Indonesian university students will also be assisting with the program.

All of the host families came to a meeting with the Goshen directors and the Indonesian team. Some of them are shown here getting ready for a photo session. (Then the camera stopped working -- dead batteries -- and we did not get any more photos of them! I will always carry the spare batteries after this!)
