Religion in Ethiopia
The week started with a series of lectures and some short field trips around Addis.
Ethiopia
is a country where three major religions, Judaism, Christianity, and
Islam, have coexisted side-by-side for centuries. We visited the church
of St. George. St. George is a Coptic, or Ethiopian Orthodox church.

The
Mennonites are here too. We took part in the 50th anniversary celebration
of the Meserte Kirstos church (at right), and later ate lunch
on the steps of the church.
