Panaroma of Santo DomingoThis is a view of the Colonial city from the fort on the Ozama river. Not Christopher, but his younger brother Bartolomé Columbus founded the city of Santo Domingo in 1498.

Obelisco del MaleconThe Obelisco del Malecón was originally erected by Trujillo to honor...himself. It's been repainted by Elsa Núñez to honor the Dominican Woman, including (detail) the three Mirabal sisters who were assasinated by Trujillo in 1960.
