This summer marks the first Goshen College SST unit in Cuba. Directors Carlos Romero (Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students) and his wife Celina have been in Havana since early April, along with their children Elise and Cristian. Students will leave for Cuba on May 1.

In Havana, students will be staying at the William Carey Baptist Church and Community Center which is very close to the University of Havana.

Susana is the administrator of the Center. She's pictured here with her husband Rolando (and Celina and Elise). That evening, we were entertained by a Cuban musical group who invited Elise to join them.

The vans at the Center were donated by Pastors for Peace. Both have significant messages written on them indicating friendship between the people of the United States and Cuba. Here's Cristian with their other van.
