Directors of the Summer 2001 SST unit in Costa Rica are Beth Martin and David Birky (shown with children Madeleine and Hugh) are preparing to welcome the new SST group on April 25 for the summer term. Both are Goshen College alumna who were themselves SST'ers in Costa Rica. Beth is a professor in GC's English Department.

Their home -- Casa Goshen -- also serves as an occasional meeting place for the students. They're located on the north side of downtown San JosŽ--Costa Rica's capital.

The summer unit has special significance, as it will be the final term for Goshen's SST program in Costa Rica, after operating in this country for more than 30 years.
