Nicaragua is right next door, but so far away... Among many other contrasts, Costa Rica abolished its army in 1948, while Nicaragua is still coming to terms with the aftershocks of its recent revolution.

SSTers will be in Granada, Nicaragua October 1-10. They'll continue studying Spanish, and live with Nicaraguan families.
