My Dominican Republic Story
I spent three months a few summers ago studying and working in the
Dominican Republic with Goshen College's
Study Service Term
(SST) program.
For the first 6 weeks, I lived with a family in a neighborhood called
Las Caobas on the Western edge of the Capital, Santo Domingo. The
second 6 weeks I lived in a village in the south western part of the
island called Barahona. While I was in Barahona, I volunteered with
Habitat for Humanity building houses for poorer people. I also got
to experience the beaches near Barahona and am convinced that these
are the best beaches in the world. The king of the beaches near
Barahona, of course, is San Rafael. Most of the beaches in this area
are not "touristy" which made me appreciate them even more.
I fell in love with this country, so I decided to set up a page just
for the D.R.
I know that this page is only links, but there is so much good stuff out
there already on the D.R. that I couldn't do it justice to try to make
a "better" page. The best I can do is supply a place where you can get
all the great pages at one place! I hope you find it helpful!

DISCLAIMER:
I recently graduated from Goshen College, and with this
meaningless, yet necessary ceremony, I technically closed the book on my Goshen College career. This
closing, will also, inevitably bring to a close the existance of the homepage which you are reading.
So, just think... you could be the last lucky person to read this fine piece of WWW material!
