Memorial to Dr. Ronald Stutzman

Memorial to the late Professor Ronald Stutzman was dedicated October 6

Dr. Ronald Stutzman, professor of sociology and anthropology from 1980-2003, was remembered in a brief ceremony to dedicate a memorial to him Saturday, October 6, from 1-1:30 p.m. on the lawn by the northwest entrance to Wyse Hall. Seventy persons were in attendance.

Tributes to Dr. Stutzman's memory were written by Dr. Tom Meyers, Director of International Education and read by Dr. Robert Birkey, Director of Social Work Education, and former student, Dr. David Lind, Goshen College Professor of Sociology.

The memorial is a stained glass art piece commissioned by the department and designed by Ron's son, Ben Stutzman, '90, which hangs in Wyse Hall's northwest entrance.  Stutzman gave a brief explanation of the inspiration behind the design of the work.

Since the dedication, anyone who visits Wyse Hall's northwest entrance will notice the new track lighting illuminating the work from the inside.
