Showalter's term extended

Shirley H. Showalter has been appointed to a second term as president by the Mennonite Board of Education (MBE). The appointment to a new term, which runs from July 1999 to June 2003, was recommended by the GC Board of Overseers. A review committee jointly appointed by MBE and the Board of Overseers found overwhelming support for the president's work. They surveyed various groups connected with GC, including the President's Advisory Council, the president's cabinet, faculty, students and leaders of church, alumni and community.
