Helicopter causes stir on campus

Sep 13, 2007

Students weren't the only ones taken aback by the helicopter that landed in the parking lot behind Sauder Concert Hall last Friday. Members of the President's Circle were offered surprise helicopter rides, allowing them to get an aerial view of campus last Friday during their annual retreat.

According to Jim Caskey, director of major gifts, "The President's Circle are the people who are major investors in the college.

"They're shareholders in what we're doing-and so we talk with them about what we're doing now and our visions for the future," Caskey said. According to him, 15 percent of donors make up 90 percent of what the college receives.
The retreat was made up of two days in which the 13 members who attended were given a tour of planned events on campus, hosted by James and Terri Brenneman.

Thoughts from first year Student Senate candidates

Sep 13, 2007

Allison Miller, the only female candidate, wrote, "The main reason I want to be on student senate is because I really want to be involved and make a difference here at Goshen. In high school I was committed to cross country, and I was never able to get involved in anything else. I promised myself that when I got to college I was going to get involved. I've been told that Student Senate is really fun and a great way to do something for my school. Thank you for this opportunity."
