Printing and Mailing Services’ are open from 8am – 5pm and the Customer Self Service area is open from 9am – 4:30pm each weekday. The Package Distribution Window is open from 11am – 2pm daily.
Sending and receiving packages
If you receive a package that is too big to fit into your mailbox or an item that needs to be signed for (such as a registered mail piece, certified letter or special delivery package via UPS, Federal-Express or USPS), you will receive an email. To claim the item, stop by Printing and Mailing Services during package distribution hours.
The Customer self service Area has a computer available to provide direct access to the UPS, USPS and Fed-Ex web sites for your shipping needs. UPS, USPS and Fed-Ex shipping supplies are available. A scale for weighing packages and packing supplies are also available. All UPS, USPS and Fed-Ex transactions must be paid on-line with a credit card. All packages ready for pick-up may be left at Printing and Mailing.
Printing and mailing services oversees all of the copiers on campus. Personal copies can be made in multiple locations. Some popular locations are the library (with two copiers), the computer lab and the connectors. For longer print projects, you can come to printing and mailing services, and the project will normally be completed and ready for your pickup within 24 hours. We also have paper available for purchase.
There are two options for color printing and photocopying on campus. For small jobs, you can use the color laser printer in the computer labs, color copier in Visual Arts or color printer in the connector. You can submit longer runs to printing and mailing services for production.
Wide Format Printing
The newest addition to Printing & Mailing is an HP Designjet Z25200 wide format printer. The large-format printer can be used to print posters, artwork, maps, structural designs, etc. Posters are a common medium for presentations at many academic conferences. Most projects are created in either InDesign or PowerPoint; InDesign is the most flexible while PowerPoint may be more familiar to you. Whichever software you use, design your poster to the actual size you wish it to be — for best results, avoid scaling it from a smaller size. You will need to convert your design to a .pdf before submitting it to be printed. In addition, the large-format printer has a physical limitation in one dimension of 36″. For example, if your conference limits posters to a maximum size of 6 feet wide by 4 feet high, you should set your poster size to be no more than 72″ x 36″. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you have or to see samples of prior projects.

During check-in, you will receive the key or combination to your mailbox, which is located in the Union building. All full and part-time students, including those commuting from off campus, receive a mailbox and will want to check it regularly, since material like class papers, U.S. Mail, Campus Mail and other important college items are distributed to your mail box.
Letters and packages are picked up daily (Monday-Friday) from the U.S. Postal System. Letters and small packages are placed in your mailbox in the Union, larger packages are sent to Coffman for distribution. Students will receive an e-mail notifying them when they have a package. Mail is normally sorted and distributed to mail boxes by 10:30 a.m. daily.
Students, faculty and staff may all be reached through this free service. There are two Campus Mail collection sites, one is at Printing & Mailing in Coffman Hall and the other is in the Union under the counter at the Mail Box Center. All mail should be at least 3 inches by 5 inches. No food may be sent through campus mail. When sending 10 or more items, it is helpful to alphabetize them by the first letter of the last name and rubber band them together.
There is no charge to receive faxes at the college if they are sent to (574) 535-7234. We will send you an e-mail asking you to stop by printing and mailing services to pick up your fax. You may send faxes from the fax machine in the Administration Building or at the Welcome Center, but you must have a credit card when sending long distance or international faxes.
Books of first class stamps are available for purchase at the College Book Store in the Union, and individual first class stamps can be purchased at the cashier’s window in the Accounting Department.
Payment for printing and mailing services, including stamp purchases, package sending, black and white and color copying, is by cash or check.
