Lab 03 - Mathematica

Mathematica is a power tool for doing Mathematics. With power comes a certain amount of complexity too!

Look in the /labs/ folder for "Lab 03.nb"-- Introduction to Mathematica (.nb file). But don't just click the link--instead:

  1. Right-click the Lab03.nb file, and choose "Save link as"
  2. Save it, on your desktop, for example,
  3. Go to your Desktop and double-click on the file you've just saved to open it in Mathematica.

Before you do anything else: Save the file (for example, to GCFile) someplace where you can get at it later. [For my convenience in grading: put at least the first names of the people in your group on the file name and inside the file.]

Periodically, save your file, so that if anything bad happens you'll have a copy of the work you've done up to that point.

When you've finished the lab, you'll "hand in" the lab by uploading your modified Mathematica file.
