Goshen College nursing students association (GCNSA)
GCNSA, the Goshen College Nursing Students'Association, provides programs
dealing with information regarding nursing roles, current developments
in the field of nursing and issues and concerns impacting the nursing
profession. GCNSA members are encouraged to serve as delegates to state
and national student nursing conventions. GCNSA plans programs and social
activities to promote professional growth and to provide a network for
nursing students at Goshen College.
The mentor program provides each pre-nursing student a mentor who is a
nursing student at the 200, 300, or 400 level.
All nursing students are required to be members of GCNSA. Goshen College
nursing students actively share what they are learning with the campus
and community throughout the academic year.
GCNSA undestands the importance of health education among many populations.
Student volunteers promote health awareness through various activities
including Breast Cancer Awareness campaigns, community health fairs, Red
Cross blood drive on campus, and Super Shot Saturday.
Goshen College nursing students really understand the importance of health
education - they have a wider view that seeks to include diverse groups,
especially cultural groups within the community. For them, this is part
of the "service" component of their education, embodying servant-leadership
and "Culture for Service."
