7:30 p.m., Faculty Showcase Recital: John Graulty, clarinet and
friends, Rieth Recital Hall
Music Department chair and professor of clarinet John Graulty will
present a Faculty Showcase Recital of chamber music in Rieth
Recital Hall. Tickets are $6 adults, $4 seniors/students, available
at the door.

14th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Study Day with guest
performers, Asante Children’s Theatre
7:30 a.m. – Community Prayer Breakfast, Church-Chapel
Fellowship Hall; sponsored by Goshen College, Goshen Health System,
Chamber of Commerce and Goshen Ministerial Association.

2-4 p.m. - Afternoon film festival: “Fuerza” and
“Dying to Live,” Umble Center
• The discussion will be led by students and local Latino
leaders.
Exhibit opening: Preston Jackson – Fresh from
Julianne’s Garden, The Library Gallery
This exhibit includes bronze castings and two-dimensional images
portraying majestic heroines of the southern United States from the
17th through the early 20th centuries. Preston Jackson, professor
of sculpture and head of the figurative area at the School of the
Art Institute of Chicago, seeks to preserve cultural history and
explain attitudes in the African American community in this
collection. Personal narratives that accompany the sculptures and
portraits are drawn from historical research and family memoirs.
The exhibit is sponsored by the Multicultural Affairs Office, the
Plowshares Grant, and Harold and Wilma Good Library, and will run
through March 2.

7:30 p.m., Performing Arts Series: Emerson String Quartet,
Sauder Concert Hall
Acclaimed as one of the world’s foremost chamber ensembles,
the Emerson String Quartet has amassed an impressive list of
achievement including six Grammy Awards for albums they have
recorded. The ensemble is lauded globally as a string quartet that
approaches both classical and contemporary repertoire with equal
mastery and enthusiasm.
Cost: $35, $30, $12.

3 p.m., Community School of the Arts Family
Concert: Les Gustafson-Zook, Sauder Concert Hall
The Goshen College Community School of the Arts will sponsor a
family concert featuring world-class autoharpist and family
musician Les Gustafson-Zook.
Tickets are $3 adults, $1 all children,
available at the door. GC students are free with valid ID. CSA
participants can pick up a “purple pass” for free
admission for immediate family at the door.
7:30 p.m., Faculty Showcase Recital: GC Brass Faculty from
Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Rieth Recital Hall
Members of the Goshen College music department brass faculty, all
of whom are also members of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, will
perform a Faculty Showcase Recital.
Tickets are $6 adults, $4 seniors/students,
available at the door. GC students are free with valid
ID.

4 p.m., Organ Recital Series: John Fast, organ, Rieth
Recital Hall
Eastern Mennonite University Assistant Professor of Music and
Organist John Fast will perform works for solo organ in recital on
Opus 41, Goshen College’s 1600-pipe organ.
Tickets are $8 adults, $5
seniors/students.
