December 2006 events at Goshen College
All events are open to the public and are free unless otherwise

Dec. 2
7:30 p.m., “A Festival of Carols,” Sauder
Concert Hall
The Goshen College Music Department’s third annual Christmas
extravaganza will feature Goshen College ensembles, students and
faculty in a musical celebration of the season.
This concert will also feature a special pre-concert by the
Honors Wind Symphony at 6:15 p.m. The pre-concert is free, however
a ticket is required to attend A Festival of Carols
performance.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for seniors and students. Tickets
are available at the Welcome Center or by calling (574) 535-7566;
patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. This
performance is open to the general public.

2-4 p.m., Opening reception for John Lambert, ceramics and Eric
Landes, photography
This is an exhibit featuring the works
of this year’s adjunct art professors who are teaching
ceramics and photography courses for this year only. Both recent
graduates of master of fine arts degree programs, Lambert graduated
from Notre Dame University’s program while Landes completed
his work at Indiana University. The exhibit continues through Jan.
31, 2007.

1 p.m., Afternoon Sabbatical – “A Baroque and
Renaissance Christmas,” Sauder Concert Hall
Danielle Svonavec, soprano, Amos Burkholder, recorder, Mary Anne
Ballard, viola da gamba, Rosalyn Troiano, viola and Kathryn Sherer,
harpsichord will perform the cantata, “O che nuovo
stupor” by Medici court musician and composer, Francesca
Caccini (1587-c 1640). The ensemble will also present Renaissance
settings of traditional Lutheran Chorales.

Join Goshen College and community members in the singing of new and
traditional hymns in Rieth Recital Hall. Admission is free, all are
welcome.
