GoLeafs.net to feature live video Webcast of Saturday's basketball game

GOSHEN, Ind. – The Goshen College Athletic Department, along with the Communication and Information Technology Services-Media Departments and WGCS-91.1 FM The Globe, has announced that the Nov. 15 Goshen College men's basketball game will be available live in real video via a free Internet Webcast.

The 3 p.m. contest against Trinity Christian College (Palos Heights, Ill.) will feature multiple angles from a total of four cameras. The Webcast will be available via a link from www.GoLeafs.net, the official Web site of Goshen College Athletics.

The multi-camera sports Webcasts are designed as a learning experience for students in Broadcast Media Production I and II headed by Associate Professor of Communication Ron Johnson. The broadcasts give students a real-time experience in a multi-camera, live television production environment. The video will then be synced with the radio broadcast presented by 91.1 FM The Globe.

Fans, media, parents and friends who cannot attend the game in person can benefit from the class project by logging on and watching the Maple Leafs from the comfort of their homes.

"We are excited about being able to offer this opportunity to our fans and families who are out of the area as well, as the learning experience for our current students," said Sports Information Director Josh Gleason. "We hope to continue to offer ways for our student to learn, while also offering increased opportunities for our fan base to expand and become actively involved in the development of our student-athletes."

The live video broadcast will be available about 15 minutes prior to game time.
