GOSHEN, Ind. – Students and ensembles from the Goshen College Community School of the Arts (CSA) will perform in a special fall showcase concert in the Music Center's Sauder Concert Hall on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 4 p.m.

The concert will be highlighted by performances by CSA's two children's choirs – Rejoice (grades 3-5), led by Rosemary Rupp, and Shout for Joy (grades 6-8), led by Sandy Hill. Each choir will perform separately and will also sing together as a combined group.

The program also features a combined string ensemble of students aged 8 to 80, led by CSA Strings Academy director Rosalyn Troiano and New Horizons Orchestra director Brook Bennett. They will perform varied works from a fiddle tune to Mozart, Bach and Vivaldi. Josiah French, a CSA graduating senior and student of Kathryn Sherer will also perform solo on piano with Chopin's "Polonaise in A Major."

Tickets are $7 adults, $5 seniors/students, available at the door only. GC students are admitted free with valid ID.

Goshen College has a long tradition of preparatory programs in piano and violin for pre-college community youth. Soon after the completion of the Goshen College Music Center, these programs and other initiatives were combined to establish the Community School of the Arts in the fall of 2003. The CSA provides quality arts education and performance experiences for people of all ages, abilities and economic circumstances. Last year CSA served more than 350 community persons through its programs. Many students receive need-based scholarships for their study of music at CSA, which aims to make music accessible to all through the generosity of community supporters.
