GOSHEN, Ind. – The Goshen College PAX club is hosting the "Drop Beats Not Bombs" tour Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. in the college's Umble Center. The tour includes a concert by Detroit-based political hip-hop artist Invincible and two workshops.
Following the concert there will be a workshop titled "Arts in Action." This workshop provides skills to making activism more expressive and creative.
The "Drop Beats Not Bombs" tour is a program of the Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR) Nonviolent Youth Collective (NVYC) in collaboration with the Not Your Soldier Project. The purpose of the tour is to train and empower youth to support each other in resisting militarism through creative action, and to build the international conscientious objection movement.
The tour will also be on campus Wednesday, Nov. 12 to present a convocation with Paula Galeano, a Colombian conscientious objector, who will speak on youth facing Colombia's armed conflict. The convocation will take place in the Church-Chapel at 10 a.m. Directly following the convocation, Not Your Soldier Project will present a workshop titled, "Conscientious Objection in Colombia and the U.S."
