Goshen College choirs offer "An American Concert for Peace" on Oct. 29

$7 adults, $5 seniors/students, available at the door one hour before the concert. General admission. GC students free with valid ID.

GOSHEN, Ind. – The Goshen College combined choirs will present their Fall Choral Concert on Friday, Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Music Center's Sauder Concert Hall. The choir, which is comprised of the combined Goshen College Chorale and Chamber Choir, will perform a program titled "An American Concert for Peace." The program features selected pieces by American composers that have themes of peaceful coexistence.

 

The choirs will perform selections from "The Peaceable Kingdom" by Randall Thompson, Samuel Barber's "Dover Beach" featuring baritone Scott Hochstetler and a small string ensemble, and Leonard Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms" with Christopher Fashun, percussion; GC student Allison Yoder, harp; and Beverly Lapp and Christine Larson Seitz, piano.

 

The performances will be supplemented by poetry recitations and readings, also with a peace theme. The Goshen College Choirs are conducted by Debra Brubaker and Scott Hochstetler.

 

Tickets cost $7 adults, $5 seniors/students, available at the door one hour before the concert. General admission. GC students free with valid ID.
