“Step on a Crack” by Suzan Zeder, directed by

“Step on a
Crack” is an electrifying production that will appeal to
audiences of children and adults alike. Ellie Murphy, a young girl,
and her imaginary friends, Lana and Frizbee, launch into a fantasy
world as Ellie seeks to escape real life problems. They romp
through “prison breaks,” Cinderella, Snow White and
Ellie’s own funeral where “everyone is really sorry for
all the mean things they did” to her. Only by running away
and discovering what it is really like to be alone does Ellie begin
to come to terms with herself and her own need for connection with
her very real parents.
Tickets are $8 general, $5 for students and seniors. Stop by the

Patty Gordon, Newcomer Center Room 17
Patty Gordon, a freelance interpreter and interpreter educator, has
worked as a performing arts interpreter since 1991 at theaters
around the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. She does concert interpreting
and has taught workshops on various topics including American Sign
Language linguistics, performing arts interpreting, mentoring,
education interpreting and interpreter education.
Cost: $50 RID or affiliate members; $25 IPT/IPP students; $70

Goshen College studio specialist and flutist Rebecca Hovan and
Assistant Professor of Music Christine Larson Seitz will perform a
Faculty Showcase Recital.

Rejoice!, a choir for children grades 3-5, is directed by Rosemary
Rupp. Shout for Joy!, a choir for children grades 6-8, is directed
by Diane Schrock Hertzler. Special guests will be the Goshen
College Women’s World Music Choir, directed by Debra
Brubaker.

Class/Guest Recital, Rieth Recital Hall
French
violinist and Paris Conservatory of Music Instructor Sylvie Gazeau
will hold a free violin master class for area high school and
collegiate violinists at 4 p.m.
She will join Assistant Professor of Music Solomia Soroka in a
duo-violin recital at 7:30 p.m. They will be accompanied by
Associate Professor of Music Matthew Hill, piano. The program will
include works by Louis Spohr, Bela Bartók, Jean Marie LeClair,
Bohuslav Martinu and Darius Milhaud.

This mother-daughter team shares the challenges and joys of working
together to research and write a book giving voice to 10 remarkable
Indiana women who made significant and interesting contributions to
Hoosier history.

Voices-n-Harmony, Goshen College’s gospel choir directed by

Series: Sweet Honey in the Rock, Sauder Concert

The Grammy award-winning ensemble Sweet Honey in the
Rock performs their unique a cappella blend of gospel, blues and
jazz rooted in the African-American tradition, their trademark
sound for more than three decades. As both artists and cultural
activists, Sweet Honey’s songs are commentaries on pertinent
issues of the day, never failing to inspire their audiences.
