GC Music Department faculty to perform a recital, Sept. 26

Concert: Faculty Recital Series – Mixed GC Faculty Recital
Date and time: Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.
Location: Rieth Recital Hall, Goshen College Music Center
Cost: $7 adults, $5 seniors/students, available at the door one hour before the recital. GC students free with valid ID.

GOSHEN, Ind. – The Goshen College Music Department faculty will be performing a recital on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Music Center's Rieth Recital Hall.

Performers will include Professor of Music Debra Brubaker, soprano; Professor of Music Matthew Hill, piano; Associate Professor of Music Beverly Lapp, piano; Associate Professor of Music Gregg Thaller, percussion; Assistant Professor of Music Scott Hochstetler, baritone; Assistant Professor of Music Christine Larson Seitz, piano; Assistant Professor of Music Christine Thögersen, organ; Music Instructor Rebecca Hovan, flute; and Community School of the Arts Suzuki String Director Rosalyn Troiano.

The program will include Haydn's "Piano Sonata Hob XVI:38 in D Major" and "Piano Sonata Hob XVI: 52 in E-Flat Major"; "For Behold Darkness Shall Cover the Earth" and "The People that Walked in Darkness" from The Messiah; R. Schumann's "Ich bin dein Baum, o Gärtner, Op. 101 No. 3" and "So wahr die Sonne scheinet, Op. 37, No. 12"; Charles Knox's music for viola and percussion; Mendelssohn's "Präludium in C Minor, Op. 37 No. 1" and "Rondo Capriccioso, Op. 14."

Tickets for the recital cost $7 for adults and $5 for seniors/students. They will only be available at the door one hour before the recital.
