Goshen College students seek used book donations for Sept. 20 benefit book sale
GOSHEN, Ind. – As part of Goshen College’s Celebrate Service Day 2006, a class of 22 first-year students at the college is seeking donations of books and other items for a used book sale to benefit Books Abroad.
The sale will be held on campus at the Java Junction coffee shop on Wednesday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The coffee shop is located in the Connector between the Kratz and Miller dorms, just off College Avenue and southwest of the Music Center; parking is available in the Music Center parking lot.
On Celebrate Service Day, classes are canceled as teams of students volunteer at agencies and organizations throughout Michiana. Students in the Oral Communication class are organizing the book sale. Proceeds this year will go to Books Abroad, which annually sends tons of books to more than 60 countries abroad and to emerging churches in North America.
Donations of books, videos, DVDs, CDs and LPs can be placed in bins in the College Mennonite Church and the Union Building (north and south entrances). For more information or to arrange for pickup service, contact Linda Rouch at (574) 535-7450.
