September 2009 events at Goshen College

All events are open to the public and are free unless otherwise noted.

August

26-Sept. 25
Exhibit: Forma: Painting and Prints by Ramiro Rodriguez
, Good Library Gallery
"The paintings and prints in Forma deal with familial relationships. The works have been inspired by my evolving role as a son, brother, husband and parent. Observations, hopes, fears and dreams are formatted and presented in black and white lines or colorful brush strokes. These prints and paintings started as a way for me to process the impact my sons have had on my perception of the world I inhabit. Seeing the world through their fresh eyes has fired the need for me to record and pass along those fleeting moments of life that can be so easily missed. At the same time I see this process as an age-old desire to mythologize a life and history and therefore connect the microcosm of my little family to the macrocosm of the human family." Ramiro Rodriguez is exhibition coordinator for the Snite Museum at the University of Notre Dame. Sponsored by the Multicultural Affairs Office, the Center for Intercultural Teaching and Learning and the Good Library.
Reception: Friday, Sept. 6 from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
