GOSHEN, Ind. – The deadline is approaching to register for three days of theater at the Stratford Festival in Ontario, Canada on Sept. 14-16, a bus trip included in the 2007-08 Goshen College Afternoon Sabbatical series.
Reservations can be made until Aug. 10. The price of the trip will include the choice of two plays, with the option of a third over three days. The cost covers coach travel, two nights of lodging at The Queen’s Inn, Friday dinner at the famous Church Restaurant and Sunday brunch. The total cost, which includes tickets for two plays, is $565, with a third play ticket available for an additional $65.
The festival offers the choice of five plays: “The Ideal Husband,” King Lear,” “Of Mice and Men,” “Othello” and “To Kill a Mockingbird.” Founded in 1953, there are four venues that make it the festival with the largest classical repertory in North America. It regularly presents the works of Shakespeare as well as masterpieces written in the 20th century and musical theater classics.
Professor of Theater Doug Caskey will be the presenter for the trip. Chair of Afternoon Sabbatical Mary Ann Roth and Coordinator of Adult Educational Travel Janette Yoder will host the event.
