Chapman will perform Fritz Kreisler’s “Praeludium and Allegro,” Felix Mendelssohn’s “Violin Concerto” and Camille Saint-Saëns’ “Rondo Capriccioso.” Deloris Dueck will accompany Chapman on piano.

Chapman started playing the violin at the age of 4, taking lessons in the Goshen College Strings Preparatory Program with Music Center Associate Director Debra Kauffman. She has also studied with Kristen Westover, Lon Sherer and Brenda Brenner. At the age of 13, Chapman was the principal second violinist of the Blue Lake International Youth Orchestra. For four years she was also a member of the Indiana All State Orchestra, and achieved the concertmaster position her senior year.

Dueck, a native of Kansas, attended at Bethel College (North Newton, Kan.), graduated from Goshen College and received a master’s degree from Wichita State University. As a pianist, she has performed with professional and university soloists, chamber groups and orchestras in Canada, Michigan, Kansas and Indiana. Dueck’s piano teaching experience spans some 25 years. Her students have received numerous awards at concerto and Music Teachers Association competitions.
