Local artist leads plein air painting workshop at Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center
WOLF LAKE, Ind. – Diane Overmyer, proprietor of the Sycamore Fine Arts Gallery at the Old Bag Factory, Goshen, Ind., will lead a plein air painting workshop at Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College, Saturday, June 9, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Plein air is a French term which means, “painting from life in the outdoors.”
In the morning, Overmyer will cover things every plein air painter needs to know and provide a demonstration using oils. Participants then will have the afternoon to work in the medium of their choice with individual coaching. It is not necessary to have experience painting outdoors, but participants should have experience in the medium they choose. All skill levels are welcome.
To register for the workshop, call (260) 799-5869 or e-mail jenniferhs@goshen.edu. The cost is $40, paid upon arrival. Lunch is included.
