All events are open to the public and are free unless otherwise noted.

Art
exhibit: "Senegal Fabrics in Indiana Patchwork: The Quilts of
Irene Bornman," Good Library Gallery
Using fabrics she bought in markets when she worked in Senegal from
1999 to 2008 for Friends of the Wolof and Mennonite Mission
Network, Irene Bornman of Goshen made quilts for her grandchildren.
The quilts reflect her motto: "Work with what you
have."
Curated by Rebecca Haarer, this exhibit is open to July 15 and from
Aug. 15 to Sept. 5. For gallery hours, call (574) 535-7418.
Sponsored by the Mennonite-Amish Museum Committee of Goshen
College, supporting the Quilt Gardens program of the Elkhart County
Visitors and Convention Bureau.

A one-day high school shootout tournament for junior varsity teams.
Teams are guaranteed at least three games.

7 p.m., Mennonite Men's
Choir Festival, Sauder Concert Hall
Performing will
be the Michiana Men's Chorus, directed by Darrel Hostetler;
the Kansas Mennonite Men's Chorus, directed by Greg Bontrager;
and the Ohio Mennonite Men's Chorale, directed by Tim Shue.
The three choirs combined include singers that hail from Indiana,
Ohio, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Colorado and Missouri.
The choirs will perform individually, and will also combine as a
mass chorus to perform works by Alice Parker, Allen Pote, Glen
Burleigh and J. Harold Moyer.
Admission to the concert is free. A free-will offering will be
taken, with all proceeds benefitting Mennonite Central
Committee's (MCC) world relief efforts.

2 p.m., Opening of art exhibit: "Brooke
Rothshank: Painting and Justin Rothshank: Ceramics,"
Hershberger Art Gallery.
Justin Rothshank, a Goshen College (2000) alumnus, was co-founder
of the Union Project in Pittsburgh, a nonprofit organization for
artists, community builders and people of faith that had a
significant impact on that community. He and Brooke moved to Goshen
and have set up home, studios and a recently completed wood kiln.
His work is featured in many publications and awards include the
American Craft Council's Award of Excellence, Ceramics
Monthly's designation as an emerging artist, and Goshen
College's Servant Leadership Award.
Brooke Rothshank, a Goshen College (2000) alumna, is a
painter/illustrator whose work has been shown in the Andy Warhol
Museum, Garfield Artworks and the Midwest Museum of Art. She
illustrated her first book, "Cups Held Out," which was
published in 2006 and she is continuing to work on other projects
with Herald Press and Faith and Life Press.
The exhibit is up until Sept. 11 when a reception will be held from 2
to 4 p.m.

Sunset Canoeing Campout, Merry Lea's Luckey's Landing
Site
Spend the evening canoeing on High Lake; then camp under the stars. In
the morning, we'll cook breakfast and take a hike through a
restored oak savanna. $10 per canoe plus $2 per breakfast.

Piano Workshop and Academy for Teachers and Students, Music
Center
The Piano Workshop and Academy is designed to serve the
professional needs of piano teachers working at all levels and in a
variety of settings. A concurrent academy for piano students ages
13-18 creates a dynamic atmosphere in which teachers and students
learn together and from each other.
Guest clinicians include Carolyn True from Trinity University;
Garik Pedersen from Eastern Michigan University; Melody Bober,
composer of a duet commissioned for the final evening concert, as
well as Goshen College professors Matthew Hill and Beverly
Lapp.

Goshen College Soccer Camps, Goshen College Soccer
Fields
This fun-filled soccer experience will give
players all the tools they need to become better as they are
trained in proper soccer technique. The camps will be directed by
Thavisak (Tavi) Mounsithiraj, head coach of the Goshen College
men's soccer team, 2005 MCC Coach of the Year and 2006 NAIA
Regional Coach of the Year.
Kindergarten Kickers, ages 5-6 years old (cost $65), will meet
10-11:15 a.m. beginning Wednesday, June 29.
Students in grades 1-8 (cost $175) will begin on Tuesday, June 28,
at 1 p.m. On the following days they will meet from 9:30 a.m. to
3:30 p.m.

New Student Days
New Goshen College students will move in to their residence hall
rooms and take part in several days of orientation before fall
semester classes begin on Aug. 29, with the Monday evening
classes.

10 a.m., Opening Convocation: President Dr. James E.
Brenneman, Church-Chapel
Goshen College President Dr. James E. Brenneman will launch the
2011-2012 school year in this opening convocation.
Goshen College's Administration Building, Church-Chapel, Good Library, Music Center, Newcomer Center, Union Gymnasium and Umble Center are accessible to people using wheelchairs and others with physical limitations.
