Goshen College seniors showcase artistic endeavors in capstone exhibit, March 18-April 29

GOSHEN, Ind. – Fourteen Goshen College art majors will display the culmination of their studies and work in the annual senior art exhibitions in the Goshen College Hershberger Art Gallery between March 18 and April 29.
- Christina Atherton(Rolling Prairie, Ind.) is exhibiting her drawings. She is the daughter of Doug and Cathy Atherton, and a 2004 graduate of New Prairie High School.
- Nicole Boyd (Goshen) is exhibiting her artist’s book. She is the daughter of Nick and Charity Boyd, and a 2003 graduate of Goshen High School.
- Melanie Brown (Goshen) is exhibiting her photography. She attends Waterford Mennonite Church.
- Hannah Gingerich(Smithville, Ohio) is exhibiting her jewelry. She is the daughter of Melbern and Rachel Gingerich, and a 2003 graduate of Central Christian High School. Gingerich also attends Orrville Mennonite Church.
- Kate Harnish(Colorado Springs, Colo.) is exhibiting her encaustic paintings. She is the daughter of Bob and Carol Harnish, and a 2003 graduate of Coronado High School. Harnish attends Assembly Mennonite Church in Goshen.
- Joseph Hartman(Goshen) is exhibiting his watercolor pencil pieces. He is the son of Emma Hartman and Charlie Hartman, and is a 2003 graduate of Indiana University High School. Hartman attends Faith Mennonite Church.
- Veloris Hess (Goshen) is exhibiting her watercolor paintings. She is the daughter of Robert and Brenda Hess, and is a 2003 graduate of NorthWood High School. Hess attends College Mennonite Church.
- Jesse Johnson(Minneapolis, Minn.) is exhibiting his ceramics. He is the son of Tom and Rebecca Johnson, and is a 2003 graduate of South High School. Johnson attends Faith Mennonite Church.
- Brandon Kurtz (Plymouth, Ind.) is exhibiting his colored pencil pieces. He is the son of Alan and Carmen Kurtz, and is a 2003 graduate of Plymouth High School. Kurtz attends Plymouth Church of the Brethren.
- Misty Dawn Penrose(Goshen) is exhibiting her paintings. She is the daughter of Ray and Sharon Penrose, and is a 2003 graduate of Fairfield Junior-Senior High School. Penrose attends New Paris Church of the Nazarene.
- Michael Perkasa(Jakarta, Indonesia) is exhibiting his ceramics. He is the son of Budi and Laniwati Perkasa.
- Karla Stauffer(Hinton, Va.) is exhibiting her jewelry. She is the daughter of Thomas and Elaine Stauffer, and is a 2003 graduate of Eastern Mennonite High School. Stauffer attends Park View Mennonite Church.
- Sarah Swartzendruber(Denver, Colo.) is exhibiting her metal sculptures. She is the daughter of Ardell and Donna Swartzendruber, and is a 2003 graduate of George Washington High School. She attends First Mennonite Church of Denver.
- Brandon Wengerd(Goshen) is exhibiting his sculptures. He is the son of Dave and Sherry Wengerd, and a 2003 graduate of Goshen High School. Wengerd attends Berkey Avenue Mennonite Fellowship.
In Senior Art Show I, exhibited March 18-29, Jesse Johnson, Kate Harnish, Melanie Brown and Nicole Boyd will have their artwork on display. An opening reception will be held Sunday, March 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
In Senior Art Show II, showing April 1-12, Misty Dawn Penrose, Sarah Swartzendruber, Karla Stauffer, Hannah Gingerich and Joseph Hartman will have their artwork on display. An opening reception will be held Sunday, April 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
In Senior Art Show III, showing April 15-25, Christina Atherton, Brandon Wengerd, Veloris Hess, Brandon Kurtz and Michael Perkasa will have their artwork on display. An opening reception will be held Sunday, April 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
Pieces from all exhibits will be included in a Senior Commencement Exhibit April 27-29, with a reception on Saturday, April 28 from 3 to 4 p.m.
The Hershberger Art Gallery, located in the Music Center, is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. The building is accessible to people using wheelchairs and others with physical limitations.
