Shout for Joy children’s choir to perform two concerts in community, March 23 and 26
GOSHEN, Ind. – Shout for Joy, a Goshen College Community School of the Arts children’s choir, will present two concerts of music and drama in the Goshen community this month. The choir will perform on Thursday, March 23 at 7 p.m. at the Greencroft Senior Center’s Evergreen Place. The choir will also perform on Sunday, March 26 at 6 p.m. at First Church of God, on 16th Street in Goshen. Both concerts are free and open to the public.
Giving voice to the theme “Who is my neighbor?”, the concert programs will include traditional treble anthems, works for treble choir and short dramas on the same theme.
The mission for the Shout for Joy children’s choir is for its members to make music together, develop vocal skills and meet new friends – all in the context of making a joyful noise to the Lord.
Diane Schrock Hertzler has given leadership to the choir for the past eight years. She received degrees in music from Bluffton (Ohio) University and Indiana University-South Bend. She has taught music in grade levels from elementary school through college and enjoys participating in church and community music events.
