Goshen College choirs perform Winter Choral Concert Feb. 13

Cost: $7 adults, $5 seniors/students, available at
the door one hour before the concert. Free for GC students with
valid ID.
GOSHEN, Ind. – Four Goshen College choirs will present sacred
and secular choral music as part of the annual Winter Choral
Concert on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Goshen College
Music Center's Sauder Concert Hall. Performing will be the
Goshen College Chorale and Men's Chorus, directed by Assistant
Professor of Music Scott Hochstetler, and the Goshen College
Chamber Choir and Women's World Music Choir, directed by Professor
of Music Debra Brubaker.
The choirs will present choral works from a variety of cultures and
countries and in a variety of languages. Several selections were
chosen with a nod to the close proximity of the Valentine's Day
holiday.
Brubaker is professor of music at Goshen College, where she teaches
in the voice, choral and opera theater programs, teaches church
music courses and serves as department co-chair. She holds a doctor
of musical arts degree from the University of Kansas.
Hochstetler is assistant professor of music at Goshen College,
where he teaches applied voice and conducting. He holds a doctor of
musical arts degree in choral conducting from Michigan State
University, a double master of music degree in conducting and voice
from the University of Michigan, a master of arts degree in
teaching from Western Oregon University and a bachelor's
degree in music and biology from Goshen College.
Tickets
for the recital will be $7
for adults, $5 for seniors and students. They will only be
available at the door one hour before the recital. GC students are
free with ID.
