A fun, unique and newsworthy campus event
WHO:
President
James E. Brenneman, Goshen College’s all-weather leader;
Campus Minister Bob Yoder; Professor of Physics John Ross Buschert,
co-inventor of the retired Goshen College Sapometer; GC sophomore
Analisa Gerig-Sickles; the
acclaimed Goshen College “Let It Snow” Singers —
and scores of students, faculty, staff and community members. Our
emcee: Jason Samuel, general manager of 91.1FM The
Globe.
WHAT: The Goshen College Weather or Not” Celebration. We will gather as a campus community to welcome the arrival of sun, wind, rain, sleet, snow — or locusts and frogs. Highlights: a presidential proclamation; scientific explanations for our relatively mild (so far) northern Indiana winter; a weather-proof prayer; cold-weather poetry; music, merriment and more. Plus, ice cream novelties will be served to all!
WHEN: Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 12:30 p.m.
WHERE: Beside the Adelphian Fountain — just north of the Administration Building — on the beautiful, and relatively snow-free, Goshen College campus.
WHY: Goshen College is committed to academic excellence and is dedicated to the development of informed, articulate, sensitive and responsible Christians. We also like to have a good time and celebrate life — more than enough reason to gather for this event.
All news media are invited and welcome to attend. For directions, visit: http://www.goshen.edu/aboutgc/map.php. Please contact the Goshen College Public Relations Office if you have questions about the celebration by calling Jodi H. Beyeler, director of the campus news bureau, at (574) 535-7572 or e-mailing jodihb@goshen.edu.
Weather advisory: In case of sunshine, we will cheer the snow break. If it’s snowing, we will welcome the arrival of God’s welcoming winter blanket. Sleet and ice? Wind? Raining cats and dogs? No problem! In other words, the party is on no matter what.
