Book signing to be held for new book on Guy F. Hershberger and Mennonite pacifism

GOSHEN, Ind. – A reception and book signing will be held for Goshen College Professor Emeritus of History Theron F. Schlabach's new book War, Peace and Social Conscience: Guy F. Hershberger and Mennonite Ethics (Herald Press, 2009) on Tuesday, Jan. 19 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the College Mennonite Church's Koinonia Rooms.

The book is a biography of Hershberger that traces the issues and development of Mennonite pacifism and social ethics through much of the 20th century.

Sponsored by the Goshen College History Department and the Mennonite Historical Society, the reception is free and open to the public and will include a short program from 4 to 4:30 p.m.
