Seminar on Iran to feature recent local delegates

second seminar in a series on “CHANGING COURSE WITH

Three panel presentations by members of the most recent Mennonite
Central Committee (MCC) delegation (returned Jan. 14) to Iran:

Members of the recent delegation who will be presenting:
• Bertha Beachy, member of Assembly Mennonite Church and retired missionary in Somalia
• James Cooper, Indiana University student
• Rebecca Fast, Goshen College student
• Gwen Gustafson-Zook, Regional Associate, MCC Great Lakes
• Richard A. Kauffman, Senior Editor, The Christian Century
• Paul Shetler, Goshen College student
Since the release of the U.S. National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) clarifying the nature of Iran’s nuclear energy effort, the context of Iran’s international relations has significantly changed. This seminar provides fresh insights into a variety of Iranian perspectives observed on location during the first half of January.
Goshen College Professor Emeritus of English Ervin Beck will moderate the presentations; he spent time in Iran in the 1960s and participated in a 2003 MCC delegation to the country.
COST:
$15 for participation, materials and refreshments. (Students $3.)
