Community prayer breakfast to kick off Martin Luther King Jr. Study Day Jan. 21, reservations due Jan. 14

AfriCaribe, a group dedicated to the preservation, research, promotion and development of the Puerto Rican and Caribbean cultures through music, dance, theater and other artistic media.

GOSHEN, Ind. — The Goshen College Martin Luther King Jr. Study Day on Jan. 21 will begin with prayer and remembrance at the eighth annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Community Prayer Breakfast, beginning at 7:30 a.m. in the Church-Chapel Fellowship Hall.

The breakfast will feature a performance by AfriCaribe, a group dedicated to the preservation, research, promotion and development of the Puerto Rican and Caribbean cultures through music, dance, theater and other artistic media. Goshen College’s Voices-n-Harmony Gospel Choir, under the direction of Patrice Penny-Henderson, will offer musical selections during the worship program and local pastors will offer prayers.

Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. and the breakfast buffet begins at 7:30 a.m. Advance registration is required; tickets for the breakfast are $15 per person or $120 for a table of eight and must be reserved by Monday, Jan. 14.
