ASSETS Elkhart County kicks off spring 2008 entrepreneurship training class

GOSHEN, Ind. – The spring session of ASSETS Elkhart County, a nonprofit entrepreneurship training program, will begin on Jan. 17 and will run through the beginning of April. Classes are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the Goshen College campus for 12 weeks.

The business training course is not designed for college credit, nor is prior college experience required to register. The classes are taught by volunteer community business leaders, professionals and college faculty who draw on their experience and success to help entrepreneurs apply business concepts to the specific needs of their own businesses.

ASSETS of Elkhart County, offered in partnership by Michiana MEDA and the Goshen College Business Department, offers practical, experience-based training and support for entrepreneurs interested in starting or expanding a business.

The cost for ASSETS training is $50-$350, depending on household income. ASSETS is promising a rewarding training course for entrepreneurs seeking to turn their dreams of entrepreneurship into a reality. Those interested in the course should act quickly, because places are taken on a first-come basis.

“We have an excellent roster of experienced instructors, and a growing and active list of alumni from the program. We have a very strong, diverse and talented board that is willing to roll up our sleeves and help with the development and delivery of business training to entrepreneurs in Elkhart County,” said Steve Martin, an ASSETS board member. “We invite the community to participate in and to continue supporting ASSETS.”
