The Original Hoosiers: Miami History and Culture Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, 3 to 5 p.m. 

Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College will host a program titled "The Original Hoosiers: Miami History and Culture" Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, 3 to 5 p.m. at the Learning Center Building.

The event will feature input from and conversation with George Ironstrack, assistant director of The Myaamia Project, which seeks to revitalize Miami culture and language. The Miami (Ohio) University, and the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma collaborate on this project.

Ironstrack's work includes coordinating educational programs. As a former public school teacher, he has a special interest in the study of indigenous pedagogical practices.
