Chamber Choir The
Goshen College Chamber Choir is an auditioned group of 20-30 singers,
performing secular and sacred repertoire from the Renaissance, Baroque,
Classical and Modern periods. Two on-campus and numerous off-campus concerts
are presented each season, and the Chamber Choir occasionally joins the
Goshen College Orchestra for choral/orchestral works. Annual tours take
the choir form coast to coast and to parts of Canada. Membership is open

Chamber Choir to conclude tour with local sacred music concertFollowing its Tour 2004, the Goshen College Chamber Choir will present a sacred program of songs from around the world on March 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the GC Music Center's Sauder Concert Hall.The Chamber Choir traveled to Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia for performances during its Feb. 28 to March 6 tour, with stops in Stryker, Archbold, Orrville and Louisville, Ohio; Souderton and Lancaster, Pa.; and Harrisonburg, Va. Read complete press release. ![]() Goshen College Chamber Choir, Feb. 2004 Debra Brubaker, DirectorDr. Debra Brubaker is Associate Professor of Music at Goshen College, where she oversees the choral and opera theatre programs, as well as teaching voice and church music courses. Deb is in her fifth year at Goshen College, and has also taught at Bluffton College for ten years.Deb has an undergraduate degree from Goshen College, her Masters degree from The University of Northern Colorado, and her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from The University of Kansas. Deb's college choirs have performed in all part of the U.S. east of the Rockies, including such venues as Washington National Cathedral, the Ohio Music Educators National Conference in Toledo, and most recently, at the World Trade Center site. Affirming her belief that music is a communal experience that can unite people of all faiths, Deb aims to take her choirs to a variety of places, sharing the gift of music. One such instance involved singing a spontaneous a cappella performance of Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" at a NYC homeless shelter in 2002. Visit Debra Brubaker's professional page. |
