MCC makes urgent call for school kits
Mennonite Central Committee representatives in Atlanta received an urgent
message this morning from relief workers in Iraq, who are requesting additional
school kits. Having made contact with more schools, MCC workers would like
to provide 40,000 more bags to children in the war-ravaged country in time
for the start of the school year in September.
A list of specific items and packaging instructions for the schools kits
– to contain spiral notebooks, pencils, a ruler, colored pencils and
an eraser – is available on the MCC web site: go to www.mcc.org and
click on “Iraq crisis response – donations welcome.”
MCC has already shipped 28,328 school kits to Baghdad from North America.
