Moodle Moot Workshops:  Tuesday evening, 6:30p - 8:30p. The workshops are extra cost ($15) and require advance registration.

Workshop A: Best Practice Moodle Server Administration - This workshop is targeted towards system administrators, 'guerrilla IT' teachers, and IT technologists who want to learn how to deploy Moodle. Come prepared for a workshop that takes you through the steps to deploy a Moodle server. Topics include database and OS platform selection, installation, CVS, PHP settings, security, backup and disaster recovery. Additional configuration options, customization, and system integration will be discussed/explored as time allows. You may use your own computer or a lab computer at Goshen College. Workshop led by Paul Ortman, LAN/Systems Analyst, Goshen College.

Workshop B: How to Create and Modify Moodle Themes - During this two-hour hands-on workshop, participants will create their own custom Moodle theme. Using themes, you can make Moodle look like just about any site on the Internet. While some HTML and/or CSS knowledge will certainly come in handy, the goal is for all who attend (experts and novices alike) to leave able to effectively change the look of their Moodle site. You may use your own computer or a lab computer at Goshen College. Workshop led by Patrick Malley, Moodle Themes Manager for Moodle.org; Owner, NewSchool Learning.

Workshop C: Moodle 101 for Teachers - So your system administrator installed Moodle and told you to "go to town."  Now what?  Participants in this workshop will learn how to build a course.  Topics covered include: getting around in Moodle, deciding on a course format, customizing the course page, and adding resources and activities (with a view toward learning what is available and brainstorming possible uses).  This workshop assumes that participants have had only minimal prior Moodle experience. You may use your own computer or a lab computer at Goshen College. Workshop led by Brent Graber, Director of Information Technology, Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary.
