| There are three operable skylights close to the ridge on Oshtemo cottage. These assist in reducing the cooling load on this building. |  |
| The prevailing winds on the site come from the southwest. Operable windows take this into account, allowing wind to enter at an angle and provide cross-ventilation on all but the hottest days. |  |
