Training Opportunities :

All teachers who wish to borrow MEL equipment must be trained in usage proceedures. Currently this is done through taking a 5 day summer class at Merry Lea. This class can be taken for college credit or CRUs.

We will also have training review sessions from time to time to give teachers a chance to practice with the equipment while Merry Lea staff is there to help.

(Biol 520) Instrumentation and Curriculum for Environmental Studies:The next course will be offered in June of 2005 - Dates TBA

This is a graduate level course that introduces you to all the capabilities of MEL and provides opportunity to interact with other teachers. Five-8 hour classes in the field with the equipment will qualify you to borrow any of the equipment for use in the field with your class. You will also develop your own lesson plan for using MEL equipment in your classroom.
