Surveyor begins the layout of the Rieth Village site from a key benchmark location. April 21, 2005


Accurate site design takes into account all of the micro-watersheds, which eliminates storm water leaving the property, and establishes the best opportunities for solar gain in the buildings.

The excavator takes the first scoop of earth in creating the access road for Rieth Village.

Cottonwood stumps are removed in preparation for the establishment of a more diverse natural habitat, which is the focus of the landscaping plan. May 3, 2005


A record of all the trees and brush that have been removed has been kept as a part of plan for recycling construction waste.

     

The roadway and parking areas are being cut in while the topsoil is harvested for reuse in the landscaping plan.

A pile of "concrete stone" is ready to be used for creating the roadway base. May 5, 2005

     
All of the material for the roadway is recycled concrete, which has been crushed and screened for size. The excavator had collected this material from demolition projects. May 5, 2005

The building pads have been prepared for cottages #3 and #4. These two buildings will be of "slab-on-grade" construction. May 16, 2005
