The area for the recirculating sand filter is excavated (October 27, 2005)

 

 

 

 

The walls of the sand filter are being constructed with treated wood. (October 28, 2005)

 
 

The rubber liner is in place in the sand filter and the distribution chambers are being installed. (October 31, 2005)

 

 
   

Most of the distribution chambers are in place. The treated wastewater from the wetland cell will enter the sand filter through the white pipe in the upper left hand corner of the photo. The fully treated water will exit the sand filter through the chamber on the far right of the photo. (November 1, 2005)

     

Two feet of sand has been placed on top of the distribution chambers. (November 2, 2005)

     

The recirculating lateral pipes have been installed on top of the sand. They will be covered with four inches of pea gravel. (November 3, 2005)
